International Development of SMEs : a two-day seminar

A new seminar designed for entrepreneurs, export managers, trade managers or CEOs of SMEs (start-up, very small companies, small and medium sized companies) regardless of their activities.

The intra or inter- company seminar aims at accustom participants steps by steps so the strategies of internationalization that are the most used by the French SMEs. The seminar will focus on different questions: where to go (choice of markets), how (entrance strategies) and with who going global (choice of partners) and will thus allow participants to express or refine their strategy of international development.

Based on interactions the seminar will rely on case studies of Rhône Alpes SME’s choosing to go global in mature and emerging countries.

SPEAKER :

Noémie DOMINGUEZ, Associate Professor at iaelyon School of Management and co-director of the Reseach Chair on the internationalization of SME’s.

She is the Academic Director of the Master 1 International Business Realities and teaches International Management to undergraduate and graduate students. She was awarded the 2015 Thesis Prize of the University Jean Moulin for her thesis on “SMEs' internationalization and implementation of gateway strategies”. The several collaborations she has with SME’s from the Rhône Alpes Region allow her to keep working on the internationalization of SME’s. In 2016, she co-founded (in collaboration with Ulrike Mayrhofer) a Chair on the internationalization of SMEs with which 7 foreign universities and two French SME’s are associated.
